The swimming area and outdoor workshop activities are open to the public! Come escape the heat and swim and splash around in the river or join in on our fun nature-based outdoor workshops!

Need a great way to spend the day? Grab a paddle board and explore up and down the calm waters at OAR!

Tube and Paddle Board rentals are only to be used in the section of river at OAR. Not intended for float trips.
Outdoor Workshops
All of OAR’s Outdoor Workshops are held at the campground and are open to the public! Click on one of the options below to learn more about the workshop and to choose a date!
Join us at OAR War Eagle Kayak & Campground as we spend the morning identifying and learning about different types of birds! We will explore the skies and trees for different varieties of birds such as finches, cardinals, woodpeckers, eagles, bluebirds and more! Bring binoculars is you have them, we will have a few pairs to loan out if needed. 9:00am-10:30am
Join us for an exciting outdoor workshop exploring the fascinating snakes of Arkansas! During this experience, you'll learn to identify the diverse species native to the region, from harmless garden snakes to venomous rattlesnakes. Our guide will provide knowledge about their behavior, habitat, and conservation. The workshop will include a hike around OAR, offering the opportunity to spot these amazing creatures in their natural environment. This event is a great way to deepen your understanding of Arkansas' slithering residents! 4:30pm - 6:00pm
Experience the amazing creatures of Arkansas after dark in our "Animals of the Night" outdoor workshop! This hands-on adventure will introduce you to the night time creatures that thrive in the region, from owls and bats to frogs, toads, opossums, and more. Our knowledgeable guides will teach you how to identify these fascinating animals by sound, sight, and behavior. The workshop includes a guided hike through the evening landscape, giving you the chance to observe these elusive creatures in their natural habitats. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast or a night owl, this workshop is a unique opportunity to explore Arkansas’ wildlife under the stars! 8:00pm-9:30pm
Join us in a hike around the campground as we identify flora and fauna that is native to our region, and discuss the importance of planting native. Learn how to recognize different types of flowers and grasses that play host to diverse types of wildlife!
